Combating Human-Wildlife Conflicts

Our passion for wildlife conservation has made us integrate it to our company as part of the corporate social responsibility program. In the past 30 years, Kenya has lost over 70% of its wildlife which is quite worrying. This is mainly attributed to human activities such as poaching and increased developments which leads to destruction of wildlife habitat. Additionally, climate change has also been a huge contributing factor to the loss of wildlife. In order to address this pressing issue, it is necessary for every stakeholder in the tourism industry to play a role of stopping this vice. However, these efforts have been derailed by human-wildlife conflicts. This is an area we intend to mainly focus on.

Therefore, as Magic Eyes Safaris, we have dedicated ourselves to contributing to wildlife conservation in ways that we can. For instance, during our safaris as we interact with local communities that live close to wildlife habitats like national parks and game reserves such as the Masai Mara Game Reserve, we engage with them and sensitize them in the importance of amicably solving human-wildlife conflicts without causing loss of wildlife. In addition, we encourage visitors to visit wildlife conservancies that have been set up across the country in order to popularize and recognize their efforts of conserving wildlife.

As a company, going forward we are looking to partner with other like-minded entities, conservancies and organizations to not only protect and conserve the remaining wildlife population but to also participate in nurturing its growth.
